Governor Robe Wines

Governor Robe Wines produce a range of premium wines including Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We aim to grow the highest quality grapes and create the best quality wines.

Grape growers and wine makers, we are located in the Robe Wine Region in the south-east of South Australia, approximately 340 Km from Adelaide, our Capital City. The Robe wine region is part of the overall Limestone Coast zone, which also includes wine regions such as Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully, Mt Benson and Mt Gambier.

Governor Robe wines are made by two very prominent wine makers in the South Australia. Peter Douglas is one of Coonawarra's most renowned and respected winemakers, he has often been referred to as 'Coonawarra's master of Cabernet'. He has tremendous experience in the district, having been chief winemaker at Wynns Coonawarra Estate for 14 years.

Peter has also travelled extensively, making wine in France, Italy, Tunisia and the Americas as well as consulting to many clients in the Limestone Coast. Peter is passionate about the Limestone Coast, including Coonawarra and  Robe, and their place amongst the great wine regions of the world.

Waterhouse Range Vineyard

Waterhouse Range Vineyard is situated on 57 Ha (141 acres) in the heart of the Robe Wine Region, some 15km south-east of Robe. Robe is located 340km south east of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. This is a part of the overall Limestone Coast zone which also includes other sub-regions such as Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully, Mt Benson and Mt Gambier.

The vineyard was conceived by Robe personalities, brothers Bill & Mick Quinlan-Watson, following encouragement from Southcorp Wines. They approached a group of investors and Waterhouse Range was born!
